Toilets

The humble toilet is not exactly the most glamourous item in the bathroom, therefore it’s important to make sure it is practical, useful and as elegant as possible. With this is mind, we at Beccles Tile & Bathroom Centre offer a wide variety of types and styles.

Most modern bathrooms will include a close-coupled toilet where the cistern sits directly onto the back of the pan. It is commonplace for toilets to feature adjustable WRAS approved cistern and soft close seats with a quick-release feature to aid cleaning. Close-coupled WC’s are considered the standard type of toilet, and are available with smooth curves or angular square shaping. Close-coupled toilets are generally used in contemporary bathrooms, although some styles eg. Heritage Granley Deco are available especially for use in a more traditional looking bathroom.

Some variations of the close-coupled toilet include:
Compact WC’s where space is a premium,
Comfort Height WC’s mostly used by the elderly because it’s less effort to use.
Corner Toilets where the cistern is angled to sit into a corner, utilizing space in a smaller bathroom.
Rimless WC’s flush away more efficiently, are therefore more hygienic and easier to keep clean.

Back-to-wall toilets generally sit in front of a tiled wall or furniture which houses a ‘hidden’ plastic cistern, which is operated by either a push button, flush plate, or even a ‘No Touch’ sensor . They can be used in a run of fitted bathroom units or ‘stand alone’ modular units. They are compact and give the room a greater sense of space.
Wall-hung toilets go one step further by using a sturdy frame system in the wall or unit which allows the pan to be held safely off the ground. This adds an even greater sense of space, and allows easy cleaning of the floor under the WC.

Starting with a traditional WC which is available with either a high or low level cistern and gives a touch of authenticity to vintage style bathrooms by manufacturers such as Heritage, Imperial and Imex. Some of the cisterns available are teamed with ornate brackets for a real bygone look. Most ranges have either a painted coloured or wooden toilet seat with chrome or gold hinges available.
